Many clients assume that bigger is better, the bigger their display, the more attention it will get at a trade show or other point of purchase. Nothing could be further from the truth. Put yourself in your customer’s shoes.
You’re strolling through a trade show and you spot a large garish display. Sure, it’s large and grabs your attention but because it’s ugly, poorly planned and/or poorly designed, your attention is immediately diverted to the next visual. Worse yet, bad design leaves your customer with a negative impression. It’s like showing up at your first date in old, ratty clothes and poor hygiene.
Same trade show, but a smaller, more thoughtfully designed display grabs attention with solid layout, good graphics and images, holds them with good color theory, font choices and easy to see and read messaging (the big benefit of doing business with you) and motivates them to make contact. Even if they weren’t in the market for your product or service, they are left with a professional, impactful impression. Want to get to the second date? Make a good first visual impression.
Want to be seen, appreciated and successful at your next trade show? Invest part of your budget in solid, commercial grade design. It will return your investment in spades.
